Photos, video and motion
One library, multiple media types
Browse photos, videos and motion photos in the same workspace, or use media filters to focus on one type. Gallery layouts include masonry, portrait, landscape and square, with adjustable thumbnail size.
Images and professional formats
The import picker includes common image formats such as JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF and TIFF, as well as HEIC/HEIF, PSD and camera RAW formats. Recognition and preview are different: decoding depends on the file and platform. If a preview is unavailable, check the source file in its original application.
Video
Open a video from the gallery to play it in the preview. Native playback controls handle seeking and volume. The information panel shows duration, resolution and codec when available. Playback depends on supported codecs; AePix may prepare a compatible preview for media that needs it.
Live Photos and Motion Photos
AePix recognizes supported paired Apple Live Photos and embedded Android Motion Photos. For paired files, import the still and matching motion file together; keep their pairing information intact. A motion asset opens as a still image first. Use its playback control or press and hold the still to play the motion; releasing a hold returns to the still.
If motion cannot be decoded, the still remains available. A missing companion file or unsupported encoding can prevent playback. Motion support is not a promise that every device export or codec will work.
File operations
Removing an item from an album changes collection membership. Deleting an album keeps its assets in All Media. Deleting source files is a separate operation: read the confirmation and choose deliberately.
